Backwater

This short story was inspired by a 5-day canoe trip that I took up in Temagami with two friends. On one of those days, a couple miscalculations steered us off course and we ended up spending a night in a swamp. There are few feelings as destabilizing as being lost in the wilderness, so I wanted to capture that in a story.
